Bible Reading : Proverbs 9:10; Psalm 111:10
“The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the LORD, and knowing the Most Holy One is understanding."
"The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the LORD; all those who do it have good understanding. Praise for Him remains forever."
Introduction
An abundant life is not just having a lot of wealth, but a life that exceeds all basic human needs. Everyone has a need for clothes, food, and board, but true abundance speaks of God's participation that transcends all of that. God longs for His people—including women—to live in abundance that touches all aspects of life: spiritual, physical, and the future of descendants.
God's Word clearly states that the main key to a rich life is wisdom. Without wisdom, even material abundance can disappear. A great inheritance will not survive if it is not accompanied by the fear of God. On the contrary, people who rely on God will experience divine care that is much more valuable than worldly possessions.
Fear of God: The Basis of Abundant Life
Psalm 111:10 emphasises that the beginning of wisdom is the fear of God. Fear of God does not mean living in fear, but an attitude of respect, obeying, and staying away from evil and sin. People who fear God will always take care of their lives: take care of their words, deeds, thoughts, even what they see and hear.
The fear of God encourages someone to pray diligently, love God's word, and live righteously before Him. The Word of God promises that the righteous will not be left behind, even their descendants will not lack (Psalm 37:25). The abundance that God gives is not only for today, but also for the next generation.
Good Mind: Applying Allah's Wisdom
In addition to the fear of God, God's word emphasises the importance of Good sense. Good reason is the ability to apply God's wisdom in everyday life. Wisdom is not only to be understood, but also to be carried out faithfully.
Good sense is reflected in hard work, responsibility, and loyalty. The Bible teaches that diligent people will be blessed, while laziness brings lack. People who live with good mind do not depend their lives on others, but prepare for the future wisely, so that they do not become a burden for their children in the future.
Proverbs 13:22 states that good people leave an inheritance for their descendants, while the wealth of sinners is kept for the righteous. This emphasises that the quality of spiritual life is much more decisive than the amount of wealth collected.
Live Faithfully and with Integrity
Good sense is also seen in loyalty and integrity. Loyal people do not betray, whether in family, service, work, or social relations. Loyalty in small things, keeping promises, being honest, and not cheating, will bring God's favour.
God's Word reminds that whoever despises the word will bear the consequences, but whoever obeys will receive a reward (Proverbs 13:13). Obedience to God's word opens the door to continuous blessing.
Praise that Never Stops
Psalm 111:10 also closes with the affirmation that praises for God remain forever. A woman who lives in abundance is a woman who continues to praise God in all circumstances, both in abundance and in struggle.
The attitude of being grateful and praising God keeps the heart calm, the mind clear, and the body healthy. The Bible states that a cheerful heart is a powerful medicine. When someone praises God in the midst of challenges, he is expressing faith that God has power over all things.
Emulating Maria's Attitude
A beautiful example of faith is seen in Mary, the mother of Jesus. When she received God's call, Mary said, "Surely I am a servant of the Lord; be to me according to Your word." This attitude of surrender is what God wants from every believer. When someone realises that he is a servant of God and lives according to His will, then God himself will fulfil all his needs.
