Strengthen Interfaith Dialogue, Special Staff of the Minister of Religion Visits GBI Mawar Saron

Kelapa Gading, Jakarta — The Special Staff of the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia for Religious Harmony and Services, Supervision, and Foreign Cooperation, Mr. Gugun Gumilar, M.A., Ph.D., visited GBI Mawar Saron to greet the Pastor of the GBI Session Mawar Saron, Pdt. Yohannes Nahuway, M.Th. The meeting discussed the plan to visit the Silaturahim Tunnel, which connects the Istiqlal Mosque and the Jakarta Cathedral, as a symbol of interfaith harmony in Indonesia.

The Silaturahim Tunnel is a symbol of interfaith harmony in Indonesia and has been inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, on December 12, 2024. In the meeting, the joint visit plan was discussed which is scheduled to take place on February 13, 2026.

Mr. Gugun Gumilar, M.A., Ph.D., who serves as the Special Staff of the Minister of Religion since 2025, is also known as the Founder and Director of the Institute of Democracy and Education (IDE) Indonesia since 2014. His presence in GBI Mawar Saron is part of the effort to strengthen collaboration between the government and religious figures in maintaining and maintaining the harmony of religious life.

In the meeting, the Pastor of the GBI Session Mawar Saron, Pdt. Yohannes Nahuway, accompanied by Mr. Elder Cornelius Masudara, S.H., Mr. Deacon of Pdp. Aan Tanjung, S.E., Mr. Dean Simon Adi Tan, M.A., and Mr. Petrus Sihombing, S.H., M.H.

On the plan to visit the Silaturahim Tunnel, Pdt. Yohannes Nahuway will also invite the Elders and Deacons of the Church. This activity is expected to expand understanding and strengthen the church's commitment in supporting the spirit of tolerance, cross-faith dialogue, and national unity.
